Tanker's Reef Project

Our work

Our goal is to restore the kelp forest at Tanker's Reef in Monterey. We began work in April, 2021 on a 2.5 acre grid within an extensive urchin barren.

Trained Kelp Restoration Divers are using hammers to carefully cull purple and red urchins without harming marine life on the surrounding rocky reefs.
